Set the Pace

What's the first thing you do when you wake up? You may already have a morning ritual but I’m talking about the very first thing you do when your eyes open.

I have to admit that I can't really remember the last time I woke up and didn't grab my smartphone right away and while I'm sure that's not the healthiest thing to do, we'll tackle that at a later time. 

So what do I do? Since we already know I grab my phone, I'll sometimes misstep and open Twitter or Instagram (or on my really bad days, email) but as much as possible, I like to start my day off with opening the Bible app on my phone. 


From there I'll often read their verse of the day or do one of the daily reading plans.

Starting my morning like this puts me on a healthy course for the day and really helps to set my overall pace. It's about starting off on the right foot anyway, isn't it?
